Margha Program, Natural Meditation Series I Saturday, May 9, 10am - 5pm Cambridge Friends Meeting House, 5 Longfellow Park, off Brattle, Cambridge MA 02138 [Map] This retreat will launch the Natural Meditation Series of the Margha Program, the path-based curriculum of the Natural Dharma Fellowship. In this first retreat of the series, students will be introduced to the principals of natural meditation, a practice common to the Dzogchen and Mahamudra traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Students of all levels are welcome. Assisted by Leah Weiss Ekstrom and Mike Miller. $75 registration at the door. Scholarships available at the door. Students free with student ID. Practice Group: Natural Meditation 7:30 pm, ongoing, every third Tuesday Cambridge Friends Meeting House, 5 Longfellow Park, off Brattle, Cambridge MA 02138 [Map] Meditation practice led by Natural Dharma’s associate teachers and practice leaders. The Natural Meditation Practice Group will be ongoing meeting every third Tuesday, and will focus on the practice of natural meditation (in the tradition of dzogchen-mahamudra), and will include the margha program meditations as they are introduced. At this first meeting, the Tuesday evening scheduling and events will be discussed.
Practice Group: Natural Meditation in Service Ongoing, every fourth Tuesday, beginning January 26 Cambridge Friends Meeting House, 5 Longfellow Park, Cambridge, MA 02138 [Map] Participants in the Natural Meditation Practice group will explore ways of taking meditation and mind-training practices off the cushion and into our local communities.
Margha Program, Natural Meditation Series II June 14-19 Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, NY Join Lama Willa for five days of relaxation and meditation at the Omega Institute. This retreat will focus on self-inquiry meditation and other profound practices that spark insight into the nature of awareness, our ever-present inner Buddha. Through meditation and relational work participants will be given practical and easily applied methods for recognizing organic awareness, the inner Buddha, both on and off the cushion. Techniques are taken from the Dzogchen and Mahamudra teachings on subtle discernment of awareness. Open to all levels—beginners and advanced meditators welcome. In this evening teaching, we will inquire into the nature of the still mind and discover techniques for sparking recognition of our deeper being within stillness. Is meditation lost in that moment? In this one-day retreat, we will inquire into the nature of the experience of thinking, and discover techniques for sparking recognition of our deeper being within thought, emotion and mental activity. Margha Program, Natural Meditation Series VIII Saturday, December 5, 2pm - 5pm Cambridge Friends Meeting House, 5 Longfellow Park, off Brattle, Cambridge MA 02138 [Map] In this one day meditation retreat, we will explore ways to integrate natural meditation into daily living, and how the contact with innate natural awareness can help us live healthy, loving, intimately connected lives. In the afternoon, we will celebrate the completion of Level I of the Margha Program with a graduation and the conferring of certificates of completion. Assisted by Leah Weiss Ekstrom and Mike Miller.
