Deborah Jai Levy, LICSW, SEP is a somatic psychotherapist and certified yoga teacher. She has been traveling the path of self-discovery and healing for over 30 years, integrating her intensive practice and study of Buddhism, Yoga, Tibetan Buddhist Yogas, Tai Chi and Depth Psychology into her life and work.
She has completed numerous teacher-guided and solitary retreats since 1986, including two 100-day cloistered retreats under the guidance of Lama Surya Das and Lama Willa Miller at Dzogchen Osel Ling near Austin, Texas. Jai also loves the practice of pilgrimage, and has traveled to Tibet, Nepal, India and Brazil, deepening her ways of seeing and being.
She has studied extensively with Charles Genoud, and completed the Gesture of Awareness teacher training in 2010, and has been authorized by Lama Willa Miller to teach the Five-Element Awakening Yoga practice. Jai is also certified in Somatic Experiencing, an approach to healing trauma and restoring the full capacity for living through harnessing the power of awareness of the body and direct present experience, in conjunction with basic neuroscience. She has assisted and co-taught with Lama Willa at Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA and maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Amherst, MA.
