Enthusiasm

Liz Monson SquareIn this Dharma talk, Lopon Liz Monson explores the sixth of the seven Aryan qualities, the qualities of the Noble Person, the quality of enthusiasm. Enthusiasm in the Buddhist tradition points to a transformation in how we approach the mundane activities of our daily lives. We all want to feel happy and enthusiastic about what we are doing, but often, the repetitiveness and grind of everyday activities results in a sense of boredom and disinterest, even in things that we originally had great interest in. But rather than engaging in our lives with a sense of duty, boredom, and repetition, the cultivation of enthusiasm can allow us to move forward with creativity and joy, to engage our lives with a renewed sense of purpose, energy, and delight.
